Open Space Committee to Host Educational Walk at Wollomonapaug
Published on May 19, 2023 12:20

Please join the Wrentham Open Space Committee as we once again welcome Doug Williams, a naturalist at Massachusetts Audubon Society, to guide us on a walk through the Wrentham conservation property Wollomonopaug on May 21st at 9:30 am. He will help us to view and understand some of the spring activities that are happening there. Though we expect to see many springtime happenings, bring binoculars if you have them, as the resident great blue heron populations are actively constructing and rebuilding past nests as they prepare to raise a new generation of great blue herons. In the past, osprey and great horned owls have also shared the neighborhood to raise their young. This walk is supported due to generous support from the Wrentham Sweatt Funds. All ages and abilities are welcome. Please dress for the weather and a short hike. The rain date is May 28th at 9:30 am. If the forecast calls for heavy rains, please watch for an email and also check the town of Wrentham’s Facebook account to learn if there is a postponement due to the weather.
